Fighting Back Against Design Theft

Unfortunately, the rise of print-on-demand platforms and unscrupulous sellers particularly from overseas marketplaces has made it far too easy for brands like ours to have their artwork stolen. We’ve seen it happen to others: bold, original designs ripped from social media and sold without permission on sites that churn out cheap knock-offs.

A large number of these come from companies based in China, where copyright enforcement is lax and imitation is common. It’s frustrating. It’s disheartening. And it’s not fair to the artists or the people who support independent creators.

Our Solution: Brand It From Within

That’s why we’ve made the conscious decision to embed the Limitees logo subtly within our artwork.

It’s not a loud or intrusive stamp we’re not interested in ruining the integrity of the design. Instead, it’s a considered, embedded mark: sometimes hidden in the background texture, woven into the illustration, or blended into the halftones. It’s our quiet but firm way of saying, “This is ours. You can’t fake authenticity.”

It serves two purposes:

1. It protects our designs — making them harder to lift and resell.
2. It reinforces the identity behind the art a nod to the fact that this isn’t mass-produced nonsense. It’s a Limitees original.
